According to the material, explosion-proof cable glands can be divided into plastic(polyamide) and metal(nickel-plated brass/Stainless steel 304/316). Plastic one corresponds to the model number: HSK-EX. Metal one corresponds to the model number: HSM-EX. Metric/Pg/Npt/G thread are available.
According to the explosion-proof degree, there are Ex e and Ex d types. Ex e is increased safety type, because the internal itself does not produce dangerous temperature, arc and spark possibility, so there is no flange. Ex d is flameproof type. Because it must withstand the internal explosion pressure, it must be designed a path for the release of energy (known as flange). Thus its average wall thickness of the shell is thicker than the increased safety type. Ex e corresponds to the part number: HSM-EX. According to the application, Ex d cable gland is divided into whether it is for armoured cables or not.
